Justin Bieber


Biography


Justin Drew Bieber was born in Stratford, March 1, 1994 and was raised by his single mother, Pattie Mallette. He was 12 years old when he entered a local singing competition, placing second. He taught himself to play piano, drums, guitar and trumpet. In late 2007, Bieber and his mother began to post videos on Youtube, so that members of his family and friends who had not seen his performances could see them, posting their versions of songs by Usher, Chris Brown, Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo and others.


Scooter Braun, a former marketing executive at So So Def, saw your video and Bieber led to Atlanta, Georgia, where he met the singer and songwriter of R & B Usher. A week later, Justin had the opportunity to sing for Usher, who recommended him for an audition with Antonio LA Reid at Island Records, who hired him for the label in October 2008. Justin Timberlake was also interested in signing with Bieber, but he eventually signed with Usher.
Justin and his mother then moved to Atlanta, where she also Usher live and Braun, to support his career. Bieber also said in an interview that he is often at his home in Stratford.

Music Career


Justin's first album, My World, was released on November 17, 2009. The album features the vocals of Usher, who appears in the video for "One Time" which was their first single. Bieber undertook a promotional tour to promote the single and was on several radio stations. "One Time" reached 12 on Canadian Hot 100 during its first week in July 2009, and 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. On September 26, 2009, "One Time" was certified platinum in Canada. The three following singles were "One Less lonely Girl," "Love Me", and "Favorite Girl", the last two exclusively on iTunes, and were positioned in the top 15 of the top 40 in Canada and the U.S.


Bieber appeared in various programs such as VMA 2009 Tour of mtvU, the European Programme The Dome, The Next Star, The Today Show, The Wendy Williams Show, Lopez Tonight, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, It's On with Alexa Chung, Good Morning America, Chelsea Lately and 106 & Park with Rihanna. Bieber also made an appearance on an episode of True Jackson, VP, in 2009. In October 2009, Justin was voted as the 5th "Best Good Example of 2009" by AOL JSYK.


Bieber performed it for President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama in the White House for Christmas in Washington, a special musical broadcast that benefited the National Children's Medical Center and was aired on December 20, 2009 on TNT. He performed "Someday at Christmas" by Stevie Wonder on the show. He performed at the 52nd Grammy Awards on January 31, 2010, with Kesha.


Justin opened the concerts of the Tour de Fearless Taylor Swift in the UK and made a short tour of five concerts in Canada, sponsored by Urban Behavior. Bieber confirmed he will travel to their first full tour sometime in 2010, and will again open the show for Taylor Swift when she was present at Gillette Stadium during the annual concert for the winner of the CMA Entertainer of the Year. Justin was invited to participate as one of the vocalists on the remake of We Are The World for the benefit of the earthquake victims in Haiti, called "We Are the World 25 for Haiti," where she sings the first line - originally by Lionel Richie. He also participated in another project for the same cause, only composed of Canadian artists, credited as Young Artists for Haiti, who recorded the song "Wavin 'Flag," by K'naan.
